Planning guides

The number one reason for appliance returns is because they do not fit into the intended space or can’t fit through the doorways or hallways. We’ve put together the following tips to help you avoid the inconvenience and cost of purchasing a product that is not right for you or your space. In order to prepare for your new appliance purchase and to be ready for your delivery, see our appliance measuring guides.

Walk the delivery path

Measure first
It’s very important that you measure the area where your appliance will be placed and be sure that your product will fit within the given dimensions. Check the entire pathway that the appliance will take to get to its final destination. Ensure that it will fit through each hallway and doorway of the entire path. Warners’ Stellian is unable to modify existing openings to accommodate your new appliances.

Check your connections
Make sure to have an appropriate electric outlet within 3 1/2′ of the space you’ve selected for your new product. Check to see that the outlet is grounded (accepts a three-prong plug), since most appliances require one. For electric dryers, electric ranges be sure to check for the required 240V electric connection (also applies to some air-conditioners).

Measure again
Take another look at the pathway en route to the final destination of your appliance and ensure that your product will fit through the designated space.

Walk the delivery path

The number one reason appliances are returned after delivery is sizing problems. It’s important to make sure your new appliance will fit through every opening—from the delivery truck to your installation space. A measurement off by as little as 1/4-inch can turn the excitement of your new appliance purchase into a major inconvenience. Double-checking your measurements will help to ensure a smooth purchase and delivery.

Starting outside of your home and walking the path of delivery, measure the following areas to make sure your appliance can fit through them. Don’t forget to account for door knobs, latches, shelves and other wall-mounted items.
